A Single Active Site Mutation in the Pikromycin Thioesterase Generates a More Effective Macrocyclization Catalyst.
Macrolactonization of natural product analogs presents a significant challenge to both biosynthetic assembly and synthetic chemistry. In the preceding paper , we identified a thioesterase (TE) domain catalytic bottleneck processing unnatural substrates in the pikromycin (Pik) system, preventing the formation of epimerized macrolactones. Here, we perform molecular dynamics simulations showing th...
متن کاملTuning supported catalyst reactivity with dendrimer-templated Pt-Cu nanoparticles.
The effects of particle composition on heterogeneous catalysis were studied using dendrimer-encapsulated nanoparticles (DENs) as precursors to supported Pt-Cu catalysts. Bimetallic Pt-Cu DENs with varying Pt/Cu ratios were prepared in an anaerobic aqueous solution and deposited onto a high-purity commercial alumina support. The dendrimer template was then thermally removed to yield supported na...
متن کاملZiegler-Natta catalysts for propylene polymerization – Interaction of an external donor with the catalyst
The interaction of the external donor (propyltrimethoxysilane - PTMS) with titanium-magnesium catalysts (TMCs) containing dibutylphthalate (DBP) as internal donor, which were prepared in different ways, was studied by chemical analysis and infrared diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRIFTS). The chemical composition of the catalysts after their interaction with heptane solutions of PTMS, PTMS/Al...
متن کاملContemporary strategies for peptide macrocyclization.
Peptide macrocycles have found applications that range from drug discovery to nanomaterials. These ring-shaped molecules have shown remarkable capacity for functional fine-tuning. Such capacity is enabled by the possibility of adjusting the peptide conformation using the techniques of chemical synthesis. Cyclic peptides have been difficult, and often impossible, to prepare using traditional syn...
متن کاملA DNA-templated catalyst: the preparation of metal-DNA nanohybrids and their application in organic reactions.
Different kinds of metal-DNA nanohybrids are synthesized from cheap natural DNA on a large scale. These air-stable M-DNA nanohybrids maintain the advantages of both DNA and the metal nanoparticles, which exhibit reversible solubility and high catalytic activities. Moreover, the M-DNA nanohybrids could be easily reused for several cycles.
